The International Handball Federation (IHF) is said to be considering a review of the 7-on-6 tactic, a strategy that has reshaped attacking play in modern handball by replacing the goalkeeper with an extra outfield player.

According to reports, the IHF is exploring several options, ranging from limiting how the tactic can be used to potentially restricting or even eliminating it altogether.

Any changes are not expected immediately, with testing of possible new regulations reportedly being discussed for as early as 2027. No final decisions have been confirmed at this stage.
