Katrine Lunde, who retired from playing earlier this year after a decorated career spanning more than twenty years as a goalkeeper, has stepped into a new leadership position within the sport. The Norwegian, regarded as one of the greatest to play her position, now chairs the IHF Women's Handball Working Group.

In her new capacity, Lunde has expressed a desire to broaden participation in handball, aiming to make the sport more accessible to women. Having achieved nearly every major honor during her playing days, she now turns her focus toward shaping the sport's future off the court, contributing her experience to growing women's handball globally.
