Vujović Exits Qatar After Falling Out Over Contract Terms

Veselin Vujović has ended his tenure as head coach of Qatar's national handball team after negotiations over a contract extension collapsed. The split means the experienced coach will not lead Qatar at the 2027 IHF World Championship in Germany.

The decision comes shortly after Vujović guided Qatar to a silver medal at the Asian Games in Japan, a result he felt warranted stronger terms from the federation. Vujović, who has previously coached Slovenia's national team, did not hide his disappointment at the outcome of the talks.

No details have been given regarding a potential successor or Qatar's future coaching plans ahead of the 2027 World Championship.
